Fish Oil For Depression
Fish oil for depression
Using fish oil for depression has become a means in conventional medicine to help sufferers alleviate this condition. Some individuals have seen an improvement by 50 percent!
Fish Oil for Anxiety Disorders
There has been quite a bit of research in using fish oil for depression and similar anxiety disorders. Depression is often the result of the brain's inability to chemically balance itself, and the component EPA found in fish oils is known to adeptly regulate brain function.
When individuals combine fish oil supplements with their current regimen of medication, it has been found that there is significant relief not only in depressive mood swings but also a reduction in insomnia and an increase in sex drive. Part of this is because the compounds in EPA are able to ensure that the utmost amount of nutrients is delivered to cells in the body. This means a cell, whether it's a skin cell or a brain cell, will be able to function at maximum capacity.
Fish Oil Treatment
Since there are millions of people from all walks of life who suffer from depression, there isn't a one-size-fits-all solution for dealing with the condition. A treatment of medication and diet that works for one individual doesn't always work for another. In addition, it can often take time to regulate and determine the right amounts of medication a patient will need to feel better. Those who are able to use fish oil with their regular medication will likely find that over time, they need a smaller dose of a traditional anti-depressant.
It's not uncommon for sufferers of depression to become discouraged by their treatment and disregard taking medication at all.
Using fish oil for depression is likely to become more common; especially when it comes to treating those with persistent depression that doesn't seem to respond to medication alone.
It's known that even a one gram dose can have remarkable effects; however, just like anti-depressants, determining the correct dosage of fish oil can still require the assistance of a physician.
It might even be possible for those with light cases of depression to see improvements just on fish oil supplements alone.
I have heard that fish oil can really help with depression. Have you taken fish oil for this reason and do you feel that it helps? Did you feel a drastic change or just a gradual ease into feeling better? Any recommended brands? Thanks!

Everything I've read about this has been positive, and everyone has noticed major changes in mood since taking Fish oil. I won't take anti-depressants alongside it because of the side effects and the increase of thoughts of suicide in people under 18 y/o. Any personal experience? Does this work good without taking anti-depressants alongside? How much should I take?
